The second week we chartered a boat 36 miles offshore, beyond the Northern Hemisphere’s largest barrier reef, to our island base. Glover’s reef atoll’s stunning white sand beaches surrounded by glistening Caribbean waters offered striking clarity for snorkeling and scuba diving. We took full advantage of our sea kayaks, rigged them with sails one day for an inter-island expedition. We enjoyed snorkeling and a unique sea breathe system that allowed us to swim up to 25 feet underwater. We learned to fish Belizean style & some chose to scuba dive in one of the richest marine environments in the world. Occasionally we took time to just relax & absorb the beauty & solitude all around us. Our FELDENKRAIS classes primed each participant for optimal performance during our many activities. We enjoyed delicious meals together & a great crew of guides & staff who made our stay comfortable, memorable and interesting with fascinating presentations on the spectacular marine ecosystem surrounding us and a beach bonfire with drumming & dancing next to phosphorescent waters beneath a starry sky.
