Belize Rainforest, Ruins, Rivers & Caves FELDENKRAIS Retreat

January 8- 15, 2007

Our first week will be spent at a jungle lodge in Belize’s Cayo District, with fascinating day trips to Mayan ruins, including Tikal, Central America’s largest and most beautiful site. We’ll explore ceremonial caves containing ancient Mayan artifacts, float rivers as they flow through the rainforest and limestone caverns, swim in idyllic pools beneath waterfalls and play in natural slippery slides. Bird watching, wildlife viewing and hiking opportunities abound right on our 63-acre jungle lodge resort property, which features thatched roof cabanas, delicious organic meals, hiking trails, bicycles, a swimming pool and horseback riding. Each day offers an opportunity to participate in a group FELDENKRAIS movement session, for the ultimate satisfaction in how you move and feel!

Belize Glover’s Reef Island Adventure FELDENKRAIS-in-Action Trip

January 16- 22, 2007

The second week we’ll charter a boat 36 miles offshore, beyond the Northern Hemisphere’s largest barrier reef, to our island base. Glover’s reef atoll features stunning white sand beaches surrounded by glistening Caribbean waters of striking clarity for snorkeling and scuba diving. Here we’ll have unlimited use of sea kayaks, windsurfers and a unique sea breathe system allowing us to swim up to 25 feet underwater. Our open, active itinerary offers you the flexibility to choose your favorite tropical pastimes; snorkeling, kayaking, kayak sailing, swimming, fishing, windsurfing, scuba diving in one of the richest marine environments in the world, or just relaxing in your hammock. A daily FELDENKRAIS group movement lesson will prime your body for optimal performance during our many activities. Glover’s Reef Island Basecamp provides a well-staffed full service kitchen and dining area serving fresh seafood, tent-walled cabanas with double or single beds, a resource-rich library, a fleet of excellent recreational equipment, and a cadre of professional guides & naturalists who provide sports instruction and natural history interpretation of the spectacular marine ecosystem.
